Black Diamond Calcium Functions in the Plant
Black Diamond Calcium is found between Cells. It strengthens the cell wall. It helps cell growth and elongation. It is effective in the permeability of the cell membrane. It is necessary for a normal flowering and root development. It helps in the intake of nitrates. It increases the resistance of the plant to diseases, drought and stress.
Calcium Deficiency Symptoms
The first deficiency is seen in young leaves and shoot tips. Young leaf edges dry and die. Shoot tip growth stops, shoot ends drying is observed. Tomato, pepper and eggplant also Tip blight (flower nose rot). Fungal stain, bitter spot on apple, pear. Sugar beet also Tip blight. Celery is browned inside the fruit. Fruit browning in Brussels sprouts. Plant tissue and fruits are soft, shelf and storage life is short. Root development weakens, roots endurance decreases. The resistance of the plant against diseases and pests decreases.
Conditions that Reduce Calcium Intake
Feeding with high rate of ammonium (NH4) nitrogen. Water shortage or high salt concentration in the soil. Conditions that prevent new root formation, such as low temperature and insufficient aeration. Low pH soils. Organic soils or soils to which a large amount of organic matter has been added. Giving too much potassium or magnesium with fertilizer. The product is in a liquid and concentrated form. It is applied to the plants in the form of spray by irrigating and it is applied directly to the soil or again to the plant with irrigation systems (drip and sprinkling).
